Default I'm stranded help por favor

Ok so I got out of class and as I press the clutch in I heard a kink . Kinda sounded like a spring kink but I am not sure . So I looked at my pedal and didn't notice or see anything out of the norm. I started my car and it would not go into first. When I attempted to go to first it would sound like its going to die. The car goes into first no problem when it is off . When I try to start it in first it will not turn over . I checked my clutch fluid and it's good . I have to use all my calf muscle to push in the clutch . When the car is on and idling it will not go into any gear . Car is COMPLETELY stock. What can it be ? Thx in advance guys

Clutch failed, either the slave cylinder or the pressure plate. Not something you'll want to fix in the parking lot, have it towed to wherever you plan on fixing it or having it fixed.

that stinks . I am thinking it is the slave cylinder because I have to push hard on the clutch pedal. Any upgrades to do while I have the trans out ?

How many miles since last re-built?
Any shifting issues of note?
Do you want to save money now or time later?

do a new clutch and have your flywheel resurfaced. if your car is an lt1, then ws6store sells a preassambled master/slave setup for like 160 or something. if its lsx then buy a new slave and hook her up.. your trans should be fine.. its pressure plate resistance or slave failure

wow, that sucks, that looks a lot worse then when my car got stuck in 6th, I would just recommend getting a new clutch set, while the trans is out might as well replace the slave

Nice clutch!!

Replace everything! Do the drill mod if staying with GM stock master or change to a Tick master if you have the dough. I would not upgrade the trans if its fine, unless you got spare money.

lots of slip on that clutch. The clutch plate looks to have lots of material left. How old is this clutch? Did your slave fail?

The disc really doesn't look that bad but the Self-adjusting springs on the plate are fully extended. Additionally the flywheel shows evidence of contaminant seen in the splatter pattern that radiates from the center of the unit. You may have a leaky RMS and this should be checked and addressed while the clutch is out. We offer 7 different single-disc clutches and both steel and aluminum flywheels. We also offer a new Slave and Master (stock and adjustable). Let me know if you need anything and I will be happy to help. See the link below for details (scroll down to the second box). Thanks

Our Level 1 Monster Clutch is a nice upgrade from stock and will easily hold 450rwhp should you decide to do some mods down the road. Combine it with a lightweight billet flywheel to free up some power and opt for a premium package that includes a new slave cylinder along with release bearing, pilot bearing and alignment tool. Feel free to call me with any questions, thanks. Chris, 817-750-2000
