Stall converters what do they do? And what do i need to get it installed?
What does a stall converter do and is it just the converter that i need to get it installed. Does it make the car faster?????

wrong section but anyway...they stall the rpm to your power range when you floor it. say you floor at 2k rpm, it jumps to your stall speed then goes from there. hope that help lol
EDIT: also, and the most importantly it makes you lunch at the stall speed that is 3500 rpm lets say

A HIGHER STALL converter will slip more and "multiply torque". Like my 3400 stall I can foot brake it to 3000 rpm and launch. So it alows you to launch much harder. Also it increases your shift extension so you stay in the upper rpms after each shift. Example: When my car shifted before the stall my rpm's would drop to 4100 rpms after the 2-3 shift. Now with the stall it dropes to about 4700 rpm. So it keeps you in the powerband alot better. I gained 6 tenths in the 1/4 mile by just changing out the stall. It will give you more gains than a cam swap will as far as ET goes. It is the single best mod you can do to an auto car for sure
