Default oil pressure sending unit

I have the long(tall) 1 wire oil pressure sending unit for the F-body now. I'm swapping a LS3 block in and it has the pedestal on the valley cover for the pressure sending unit. This leads me to believe I need the shorter one. The only shorter I have found have 3 wires. Does anyone know the correct number oil pressure sending unit part number I need?

Thanks
Ed

Default LS3 into F-body

So no one who put an LS3 into a F-body even noticed what I'm talking about?

You can use the long sensor. I have an lsx block with the same valley cover and I used the long one. My fast 102 intake sits higher than the sender with the pigtail attached.

If you use the FAST, be sure and check clearance with the tall sensor.
The FAST on mine was pushing against it and cracked it. Upon disassembly the sensor fell apart. Nothing a little filing on the back of the intake would not fix.

I'll be installing an Ls3 in my fbody as well with a fast 102, which sensor do I need? I dont want to hack up 850 dollars on an intake! Don't mean to highjack! Sorry

I've got a late-style valley cover out in the shop somewhere... IIRC, the "tower" had enough meat to be cut down and rethreaded to make it lower. Also there was a thread here a few months back on using a 90° angle adapter fitting to get the OP sensor out of the way.

Do you know if cutting down will make it work or fit better?

I tried to go to O'Reileys to get a 90* fitting and the guy was an idiot. I swear all they ask those counter people if they know what an oil filter is and if they can use a computer!

Without seeing what you have, I couldn't venture a guess. Look here, down towards the bottom is a parts list.

Brd-prey. You can use the stock ls1 oil pressure sensor I did. Plenty of room under with the ls3.

The issue come in when running a fast 102mm intake. I had to radius the intake right were the oil pressure sending unit sat to make sure they weren't touching.
