At the track with you 10 bolt?? ok i have my stock 10 bolt with LTs and straight pipe and was running 13.4 on nitto555 drag rads that same night i broke my TA and DS beacause the back piece of the TA bushing was missing... i was doing a 3k launch... which i know was not a good idea with the ten bolt but let me know how hard of a launch you guys have done one your 10

Slipped the clutch as high as ~4800 RPMs. Didn't heat up the tires too much for fear of traction on the 10 bolt. Cut a 1.98 60' 
, but at least I drove home. 
The only way the words "launch" and "10 bolt" belong in the same sentence is "I'm going to launch my 10 bolt in favor of a 9" or 12 bolt." Clutch dumping on the 10 and sticky tires is suicide, that's why slipping the clutch will save it a little.

Hell, im an auto guy with a built 4l60, an SS4000, an F13 and and some suspension, went to the track a few weeks ago with a set of hoosiers. Well anyway couldnt hook up all night, heated up the tires alittle longer and lower the air alittle more on the last pass, stalled it to a mear 2500 rpms and capow good buy rear, i dead hooked! Good buy richmond 4.10s!!

A4 3200 stall, 3:73 gear here.. Mine has held up nicely until last time out... Finally got the suspension dialed in and cut consistent 1.51 60's. Rear held, but whines worse than ever... Pic in sig was last launch... Rear is still in car and find for street driving, but I wouldn't trust it at the track anymore... New rear will be in next spring, undecided as to what though(at the moment)..

A4 3800 stall typical cam and milled stock casting 241's, full bolt ons, I have over 140 passes on my stock 3.42 rear from a six speed car, I foot brake it to about 2k rpms sometimes more if my brakes allow it and dead hook quite often. I recently stopped hooking once I swapped the motor and trans mounts for poly mounts, now the car does not seem to like hooking.
I service the rear every year if not sooner. I have some noise coming from the rear, but I am sure that is the bearings since it sounds like a bad wheel hub.

Mines just a M5 v6 with a lil work and today I got me some 275/40-17 ET-streets very first launch it killed my 10 bolt with 3.73's hince why im trolling the drivetrain section...

I destroyed my 10 bolt on the 1-2 shift on Nitto DRs. I'm talking the posi unit and all. Then on another outing I broke it again on the launch, didnt even move a foot.
If you have more than bolt on power, or you have bolt ons, a good clutch, and sticky tires, you better be prepared to upgrade that rear.

10 bolt with stud girdle & 3:73's, made 420RWHP, 3200 Vig with shift kit.
11.96 @ 115. 1.79 60'
I weigh 254lbs.
That was the best time I have gotten, been faster with slower ET but the rear is as good now as it was brand new from the factory. Car has 57K.
I'm building a 427 that should make 575 -600 at the wheels. Reflashing the stall to 4200 with a Performabuilt Level II. Got a new Detroit locker, Moser axels, Richmond 4:10 and all new bearings, seals & gaskets as well as the T/A Stud girdle kit for the *** end.
We will see how it holds up this fall at the track on drag radials!

To the OP, all these auto guys posting, well, their experiences don't really apply. I had a stalled auto before my current car and it pulled 1.6s no prob full weight with sticky tires and the rear never made a peep. Manuals are a diff story so stick to the manual guys testimonies, anything else is apples to oranges.
With that said, when your talking about a manual car/10 bolt combo with any kind of tire and any kind of clutch at all, its not a matter of if the rear will break, its when.
