It's in the car at the moment..plans are to yank it out tomorrow and put a stock LS1 Torsen in it since the Eaton one is trashed.

Here it is on the Eaton website.

I see all the ebay sellers trying to sell the Gov-locs as an "Eaton" style posi.

Right, but I kinda felt like they make it out to be better then what it is. Well anyway, take some pics, I have wanted to dive inside one of these for a while just haven't taken the plunge yet.

I was about to say.... Eaton themselves state its a "sealed" unit, once its broke, its broke.

I've seen the 8.5's blow up..the 7.5's are useless..the 10.5" 14-bolt one in my 2500HD is pretty much indestructable..

I have one in my Dana 135 in my pulling truck and it holds up great. I heard the smaller units aren't as stout.

Well here it is..

Everything looks normal..the problem with it is that it backlashed like a mother ****** taking off..gears in the car were fine and at .008 backlash, nothing else is wrong. A stock Torsen was installed in the car and it drives fine.

I'm baffled..

I'm going to look at it more closely, clean it up, reassemble it, and install it in my S10.

Perhaps the gears are just excessively worn?

**** looks normal..trust me I'm confused..I'm going to reassemble it and run it. The S10 doesnt weigh enough to break it..
