Default lsx drive by wire or cable

I'm doing a ls1 swap in my 94 vette and was wondering if I should go with the drive by wire or cable throttle body. What do you guys think is the best way to go.I have been doing searches on it but have been getting mixed reviews. thanks for the input.

Cable is certainly simple enough. I don't really see a downside to it.

If you dont have the TAC Module and Pedal, DBC will be considerably cheaper.

None of the newer ECUs have an IAC driver. You're going to need an 04 or older ecu/harness.
One advantage to DBW is the cruise control is built in. I've done 2 swaps with DBW, no problems. Just make sure you get a complete takeout with pedal and tac.

Yes, and the Corvette TAC/Pedal setups are even more expensive than the truck.

As said previously, you should try and make sure you get the pedal and tac with the engine pullout to help keep cost down. If you are going to run DBC make sure you use a PCM with IAC drivers (Red/Blue PCM or GTO/Express Van Green/Blue).

FYI we have PCMs for $200 with standard tunes and DBC harnesses for $499. Still free shipping to LS1TECH.COM members.

I am putting a 5.3L LM7 that is bored to a 5.7L with 799 heads in my 85 Vette and I chose to stay away from the DBW. No other reason than just that i would like to keep it simple and I dont like the lag with DBW. When I touch that pedal i want my engine to respond immediately!

What setup are you using for the belt driven accessoried?

You can actually program the pedal response.
I actually have the opposite problem with my Nissan pickup, the TB is too responsive. I keep spinning the rear tires.

I just finished a 5.3 Flex Fuel swap into a 1966 El Camino, with DBW, and have zero lag as well. The response is immediate and my rear-end is paying for it. (LOL)

DBW seems simpler to me as far as tuning and installation goes. No need to play with the IAC motor.

dbw for my vote. cruise was like like 3 or 4 wires. cutting the adjustable height pedal to fit was a different story.
