Default Resistor Trick question??

I know there are a ton of post about this, I am looking for the amount of timing that gets pulled per resistor, all I have found is what resistor make it xx* temp.... for say stock tune thanks

The stock 98 PCM pulls three degrees if IAT is above 55 C and MAP is above 90 kPa.

so no matter the resistor it can only pull 3*? someone said it can pull more only reason im confused

That's without changing it in the PCM. You can pull whatever you want if you set it in the PCM.

I was hoping to be able to pull more than 3* without buying a tuner... Right now all I have is an autotap to see where my timing is. and wanted to run 150 shot... what would be my cheapest option to pull more than 3*?

Running a 150 shot would be safest on a dynotune. Im sure tuning cost money, but probally cheaper than replacing a engine.

Get a lingenfelter timing controller and do it right.
