Default 98 wiring harness 99 pcm??

Hi Guys. I'm a newbe here on the forum and would like to ask the experts on this subject. I have an 98 Camaro LS1 with a T56 trans. I was wondering since their are alot of hand held tuner available. My question is can I use a 99 pcm on my 98 Camaro? Most hand held tuners available on the market are for 99-up. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks! Ariel

I thought you would have to repin your harness to use that PCM? Idk I might be thinking about something else.

For one thing, the gauges in the 98 are all "direct" to respective sensors....the 99-up is PWM controlled through the PCM. Ask me how I found this out LOL

Where can I get the pinouts or schematics for this? My dad has an '96 lt1 running a 411 pcm from an '02. We wanted to convert my '98 to a 411 as well. Am I crazy to think about doing this?

Repinning isn't hard, just tedious.

it make it easier if you can find an extra set of PCM connectors to use.
