My TC78 SS Camaro v. GT4202 1G Eclipse
Well my buddy has a top mounted GT4202, built motor, shep trans that is running around 35 psi. He ran 11.3 @ 118 in utah. I am on 8psi, stock ls1 with a built 4L60E with Yank stall and shift kit. It went down like this. I ran the first time from 70mph roll...auto's aren't built for that lol We I did it anyways. I immediately got the jump on him and pulled on him til about 120 mph...letting off due to a turn on the Mexico freeway. Some drinks and a few burgers later...bbq. We decided for another run. Went down like the first time, but he hit his cars sweet spot in 3rd. Bam, we punch it and immediately the camaro shifts and I get the jump. Then he shifts and comes along the side of me. Then we ride it out. He pulled me, but not by much. My front end was at his door. I am very impressed with this auto and the power its making from how much I've spent so far. Especially since I haven't scratched the surface with this thing. Well head work is next with more boost. Given if the car can handle it (knock on wood).

Pretty good runs. You might be able to get away with 10psi if you have a good tune, 317 heads to drop compression a little, and arp rod bolts and head studs, but even then that is pushing it. Is this on a 10bolt rear?

This is on a 10 bolt rear Also, I am doing a cam package and heads if I can afford both. If not, just the cam and a few odds and ends plus more boost. The tune right now seems really good.

Lol @ GT4202 and 11.3@118.
A local acquaintance of mine has a street legal 4202 talon. It's gone 9.51 and 155mph during shakedown passes with the new setup. Next year it's very likely to run 8s.

The car is just too damn laggy in between shifts. I had the same setup in my Talon that i sold before I bought my Camaro. I had troubles with that too. We live in Utah...4000 ft + above sea level doesn't help either. Another local guy ended up running 9.2 @ 150+ with his setup, so I really don't know why.
Also, I was off a little bit. He ran an 11.31 @ 128...my bad.

42R on only 36PSI, 1 more PSI but the car is not gutted in any form and the driver weighs 300lbs. Not to mention this was through an auto which makes the MPH even lower than a 5spd.
This year he gutted the car, filled the block, put a bigger turbo on it, and is shooting for 8's.

Awesome. I had the journal 4292 on my setup with a shep stage 3 trans and four spider diff.
Here's my old talon...sold April 2010 and bought my Camaro
Sold it on 38psi and more timing. Car should have been around 700 at that point.
