Talking Houston Performance Driving: South Coast Fun Run to Galveston Sunday November 13th.

LS1Tech Members and Staff.

Houston Performance Driving will be hosting it's famous South Coast Fun Run to Galveston Island. The date will be Sunday November 13th, 2011. Come join some of the fastest from the "Power City" in a fun filled, high energy cruise along the Texas Gulf Coast to Historic Galveston Island. HPD is all about high performance cars, trucks, and bikes! We are looking to have a solid group of enthusiasts that can have fun, and still be safe. This will be one of the best cruises you will take all year long. If you have been on a HPD S.C.F.R. to Galveston in the past. You know it's ***** DEEP!

I. South Coast Cruise Outline:

- South Side Meet Location: Roll in @ 10AM w/ roll out @ 12:30PM. There will be (1) meet location for this event. The location will be the Racer's Edge car wash @ 1980 Country Place Pkwy Pearland, TX 77584. While the facility sits on the access road of 288 N., you must enter the car wash from the road behind the lot. The lot is located on County Rd 94 between McHard Rd and Hughes Ranch Rd (County Rd 403). Please Google Map the address to be clear on the entry driveway. Map: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=1980+C...77584&t=h&z=16

- Car Wash: The folks @ Racer's Edge will be ready for those that want to get their ride cleaned before rolling out. The cut off time for the wash is Noon. In fear of not getting through the wash and missing roll out. No new cars should be in line for the wash. However, we are very confident that the car wash staff will be able to accommodate everyone that wants a wash. Plus this way we'll all be looking good rolling down the freeway. Also Racer's Edge has a nice lounge a "club house" with couches and big screen TV. Please relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

- Safety Briefing: 15 minutes before roll out the HPD Staff will host a safety briefing on the South Coast Fun Run. It will be important for anyone going on the cruise to hear. This will be a 110% SAFE cruise. Racing of any kind will not be tolerated. Please be SAFE, be SMART, and stay SHARP!!

- Roll Out: Will be @ 12:30PM!

- Buc-ee's Pit Stop: The cruise will stop at Buc-ee's for fuel, refreshment, and restroom break. We will be stopping at the Buc-ee's @ 598 East Hwy 332, Lake Jackson, TX 77566. Map: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=598+Ea...77566&t=h&z=18 Please park in a organized manner when you enter Buc-ee's. In the past we've had so many cars that we created a log jam in their lot. Lake Jackson PD and DPS has to help us get out.

- San Luis Pass Toll Bridge: HPD has a system that will get +300 cars through the toll bridge in 15 minutes. Tolls are $2 for each ride. The system will be explained at the south side meet location. This system has worked many times for us in the past with zero issues. Please have $2 cash, this toll bridge is not a E-Z Tag controlled crossing. Your Harris County E-Z Tag will NOT work.

- The Spot: The final stop of the cruise will be at The Spot for meals and beverages @ 3204 Seawall Blvd, Galveston, Texas 77550. Map: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=The+Sp...n,+TX&t=h&z=19. The Spot has plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax while looking out to the Seawall with all the cars lined up. There is a small vacant lot next to The Spot that you can use as well. Feel free to eat where you wish on the island. You do not have to eat at The Spot.

- The Return Home: There will be no return cruise home. Once you have finished your meal or activities. Please return home at your convenience. Please be safe on your return trip home to the Houston Area, or where ever home may be.

II. Route Guide:

Default After Action Report!

After Action Report!

- First: Simply....THANK YOU to everyone that made it out the Houston Performance Driving (HPD) South Coast Fun Run to Galveston Island. We had a great turnout of rides on this cruise. What a great combination of Import and Domestic performance cars. By our counts we had +125 cars in the group. We do apologize for the rain at the rally point, and rain for the first 15-20 minutes of the cruise. We can not thank everyone enough for sticking it out and keeping with the group to Lake Jackson. Once in Lake Jackson the sky finally gave us a break all the way to Galveston. It was amazing to see so many cars in the train, and it gives me the energy to keep planing these events. Everyone seemed positive and kept is safe. Thank you from all the staff at HPD.

- The Rally Point: MASSIVE thanks to The Racers Edge Hand Car Wash in Pearland for allowing us to stage up for the cruise. Great facility with a great staff. We chilled out got the see some nice rides roll in and get washed. The club house was a great place to sit and watch the first quarter of the Texans game before we rolled out. Also it gave us some nice shelter when the off and on rains came in. Again thank you for sticking with the cruise and gutting out the rain. IMPORTANT! Racers Edge is honoring a rain check exterior wash for all those that made the HPD fun run. Get back over to the car wash ASAP to get your ride cleaned up. Now that's taking care of your customers! It was a little tight in the parking lot, but I think everyone parked the best they could. Roll out was at 12:30PM.

- The Cruise: The first 15-20 minutes did have some rain, but we cleared it once in the Angleton Area. 288 South was wide open for all of group to stay together and have a massive train. I think our line was maybe +1 mile long. With that many folks together things can always get harry. However, everyone drove safely and responsibility. There were zero reports of unsafe driving of any kind. Thank you to all drivers. The cruise made it to Lake Jackson OK, with only a few people getting pulled over by DPS cough"Lucky Loser"cough in the black Supra. Only warnings were issued and I've not been told of any tickets. Again I can't thank everyone enough for keep it organized at Buc-ee's. The manager said it was OK for us to refuel and grab some beverages. However, Lake Jackson Police did show up due to people blocking fuel pumps and using profanity. I asked the officer in charge if there were any reports of "bad driving"....? He said no calls for unsafe driving were reported. All of the Lake Jackson officers were extremely professional. Thank you Lake Jackson PD for the escort out of the area. Those guys help keep the group together and make it easy for us to continue on our way.

With the weather behind us the I feel the cruise become very successful with the ride along the coast. Plus just looking back at how long our line was......was just exciting to see. We got +100 rides through the toll bridge in less than 10 minutes. THANK YOU! HPD has used that system for past cruises and it works every time. Once we made it through the toll bridge we cruised up to Galveston Island and parked along the Seawall in front of The Spot. Everyone went inside to eat up and unwind.

I'm sorry if I did not get around to every table to thank you guys and gals for making the fun run. It was truly a fun cruise and we had a blast putting it on for you. Awesome group with so many nice rides. Vetts, Vipers, Supras, GTRs, BMWs, P-Cars, RX-7s, Camaros, SRT cars, Mustangs, Cobras, AMGs, and much more!

It's highly encouraged that you sign up and register on Houston Performance Driving.com. This will keep you up to date on all cruises, drag nights/days, road course event, private HPD meets, and many social gathering with other HPD folks. Join the most active Houston performance car/truck/bike forum.

- Picture & Vids: If you took any pics or vids during the fun run please post then in the AAR. I was too busy to be able to take any pics. I hope a few folks did.

Best wishes and 1000 thanks to everyone that make it. Thank you for keeping it safe.

HPD hope to see you at the next event!

Troy - HPD Staff.
