i'll be using a 5.3 out of a 04 silverado
mods are ls6 intake/tb, long tube headers, 3200 stall, 4.10 gears, 175hp nitrous.
full street trim, rear seats and all. I have no clue what to expect @ the track when its all put together so if you folks would, post your times, mods, weight, year to help me get a general idea of what to expect

If it has a stock cam then I wouldn't expect any better than high 12 to low 13 on motor and low to mid 11 on the spray. You need to run a 28 in tire on the kit with those gears but I would highly recommend a swap to 3.23 or 3.42 gears if you are running a 10 bolt rear. Even if you have a 9in or 12 bolt rear I would say you need less gear with the 4l60E tranny.

i'd gladly trade the gears for a set of 3.73 or 3.55 gears

Well a cam that big in a 5.3 will be a dog down low. A cam like that needs at least 11:1 compression. It really needs 4.30 -4.56 gears with a 6 speed but you could get away with 3.73 in an auto car. You will need at least a 3800-4000 converter . I would make sure you have good PTV clearance with that cam. Something in the mid to high 220's duration @.050 would be much better. Good luck and remember bigger is not always better especially in a street car.

You should PM "sman" He swapped a 5.3 into his camaro to replace the V6. Was stock internal and then he put a 224 cam in it. Also has had a few converters.
I know he went to the track with pretty much every set up also.

Awesome you should post a video when your done i really want to see how it is, and what your results are. It sounds like it should be pretty stout. I still have to replace my dash and lt1 body harness with a ls1 body harness. Im anxious to see what these will run. I plan on running a 150 wet shot.

Sadly, no. There is about 8" of snow on the ground. currently building a set of studded ice racing tires for it now though. Yup, thats how we get down up here. Planning on cutting off the cats and doing duals dumped at the axle before I do go get some times.

Cool. I will make a build thread when im ready. I decided to just get my ls1 harness converted to plug in to the lt1 car. In trade with my lt1 harness amd pcm im only paying $50 to have it converted. Im currently looking for a t56 then ill be ready to start a thread. My builds almost the exact same as yours only with a bbk ssi intake and 85mm tb and a different cam and six speed. I will eventually be running an ebay gt45 turbo and ebay ptk copy style hot side kit once all the bugs are worked out n/a. I might even make a few passes before i start the turbo part to finish the build.
