Default Longtube results..

Previous best was 12.52 at 110 with a lid, cat-back, and a tune. Added OBX LTs and ORY and ran a 12.42 at 110.5 on a 1.89 60', and a 12.49 at 111.5 on a 1.93 60'. Street tires...my trans bounced off the limiter on the 12.42 pass between 2nd and 3rd. Might of been a 12.3 pass had it shifted...oh well, thats expected out of a stock 4l60 in time, lol.

You guys have no idea....lots of cars running 10s at over 130 mph out there with no helmet, lol. Only thing they really ask of anyone out there is that you don't hold your beer and race at the same time

Yup...wish I could say I didn't, lol. I could have the limiter bumped up or shift point dropped a tad, but it would only mask the problem for awhile until it gets worse. It didn't do it on the 1st pass, did it ever so slightly on the 2nd pass, then you can hear it on the 3rd pass (2nd vid against the Stang). When we left I revved her up in 2nd and it did it pretty bad again. Sucks, but I've been expecting it.

I let her cool down for a full hour between passes. That being one reason and the other just so the engine was not heat soaked. Only made 3 passes in 4 hours.

Car looks good! Be glad when I get that fast. I just bought a core trans to start building so I won't be broken down long when mine goes....

Thanks guys. I was hoping for a little more out of the LTs, but at least its running 12.4s fairly consistent vs 12.5-12.6.

I thought headers would've pick you up a bit more. I think I got a little over .1 from going from macs to kooks and it was very noticeable in mid range tq. I got .3 and 3mph going from stock manis and y to the macs with ory. Strang how cars react differently.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Fully expected a solid 2 tenths, maybe even 3 like you experienced. The stock mani really didnt look all that bad, not to far off from being a shorty. Idk, maybe I need to open up the airbox some. Its still in stock form other than the lid and filter. Just doesnt look like much air can get in there through those tiny slits at the bottom of the airbox. I just can get my finger tips through there.

Just food for though. I have the same mods as you and mine is in the 12's on motor. I did put a 3000 stall in, but it didn't pick up anything since my radials are wayyyy to tall with my 2.73s. Anywayyys to my point. My car on a 70 shot pushed through the converter pretty bad on the 2-3 shift and ran a 7.9 at 90 mph. After messing with my diablo (factory tune, my friend upped the line pressure and shift points), it jumped down to a 7.5x at 92mph. Bad shifts kill e.t. and mph. It'll run good the next time out.

No doubt, shifts make all the difference. I'm wondering if bumping the 2-3 shift point down a hundred RPM would keep it off the rev limiter...at least until I can swing a built trans, etc.
