Default Maybe clutch?

Question.

When I am in higher gear 3 4 5 or 6 cruising about 2,000RPM or most any low RPM when I give it a little gas to speed up some the car jerks over and over pretty hard until I get up to around 3K or so. This is so anoying and not much driver friendly.

I have had the trans recently rebuilt but I know it did it before that anyway. Is this a clutch issue or perhaps a misfire under load? The clutch is not new but seems to not slip at full throttle. I am not throwing any codes except the occasional P01416.

Not sure where to look. I suppose I could live with this unt I put a clutch in it but am not 100% it is the clutch.

Thank you in advance!

From reading other post this may indeed be a clutch issue. I can smell it after a few hard launches too.

How many miles on it?
I noticed mine gettin weak after about 110,000 miles.
I'm replacing mine with a Yella Terra ultra light steel flywheel and a twin disk setup from McLeod..

One way you can test it would be to stick it in 5th gear while going 20-25mph. Floor it and if it slips and the RPMs shoot up, then the clutch is gone.
I've got a deal on the Stage2 basic kit for $369 shipped, or the complete kit (with flywheel & slave) for 689 shipped.

I had this same exact problem, years ago when I bought a 94 trans am with a T56 and 105k on the clock. I too thought the clutch was slipping when I hit the gas at certain rpm's, though it turned out to be a trouble code that was easily fixed...Problem went away after code was cleared...

I know this is probably not your case but i get ppl in the shop all the time when at a high gear low rpm's car jerks and misses that feel like a jerk. 9 out of the 10 i fix come back to a cracked plug or bad wire. I figured you have already covered this just my .02

I think you may be right. That is my next place to look. Once in a while I will get the random misfire code.

Thanks.
