Default bending headers?

Guys, i finally got the F-body pan on the ol 72 camaro and now have almost 2" to spare on tyerod end clearance. the problem i am having is a poor working angle on my driveline. 4.6* to be exact. the only thing thats stopping me from raising the rear of the trans is header clearance on my floor pans. Is there a way to bend the headers down without distroying them? can u safely heat and bend all four pipes and the collector without screwing them up. they are coated, and i am sure it will ruin that, but how much can u bend them before things get all out of wack?

I would say if You need the collectors down much more than an inch or so I would search for an alternative fix for You're problem .

Ive used a rosebud to bend headers, but Im pretty sure your coating wouldnt like it at all. Denting the floorboards out of the question?

Geezer, i hadnt thought of that. I will take a look at it. Maybe just drill a new hole in the mounts 3/4 or so below the mount holes i already have. Im using that funky BMR mout system. Might work !

The bending the floor pans would have been ok, if i hadnt already painted the cars underside body color. Good idea, im just too far along to step that far backwards.

Default Bending Headers

New School, here is a link to Marktainium's Camaro budget build. He goes thru the process he used to bend his headers into shape. He seemed to get quite a bit of deflection without issue. Good luck!
