I'm trying to tweak my tune but before I make any changes, I want to see what changes have already been made through prior tunes. I don't have my stock tune file and I can't get to the repository because this is my uncle's HPT software. Anyone have a stock tune from a '98 LS1 A4?

Open your .hpt file. Look under Edit Calibration Details What is the VCM OS ID #? Gm used more than one in 98. You need a file with the same OS to do a proper compare. I have all of them and will post the one you need.

I need an og hpt file for my 98 LS1 too? My VCM OS ID is9352086. My rear end gear ratio was 2.73

If you have HPT, go to the tune repository on their site and grab one.

I'm not sure they produced that combination. I looked at 35 98 TA and Z28 files I have and every one with a 2.73 gear used OS 9352082. I have lots of 9352086 files with 3.23 gears. Would have to be a plain TA or Z because they never made a WS6 or SS A4 with a 2.73.
