Default FAST 92mm Big Mouth Throttle Body Sticking?

Has anyone had any issues with a 92mm FAST Big Mouth throttle body sticking? I have heard of issues with the older 90mm throttle bodies but none of the newer ones that I know of?

I have one that I think is sticking.

Cheers
Benno

Did you check to see if the blade is rubbing against the body and getting stuck? If so you can losen the bolts to the blade and re-adjust it. I usually losen the bolts up and close the throttle. Then I just open/close it a few times to make sure it's not sticking and then I just tighten the bolts.

Hope this helps.

The 92mms were totally redesigned from the ground up. Ive never had a 92 stick, and ive messed with a lot of em.

Check things listed above.....

Did adjusting the blade solve the problem?

I've actually been lazy lately and haven't played with it at all.

I have noticed though that after I've been on a long drive the throttle won't go back to 0% and sticks at 2%. This means the car doesn't fall back into its idle routines etc.

I've actually ordered a new Nick Williams throttle and FAST intake so not sure if I'll mess around with it much. I tend to think though the FAST throttle must be getting warm and parts expanding maybe which then causes it to stick?

Cheers

Thanks for the info, Benno. I have an early FAST 90mm that sticks when the throttle is closed. Trying to figure out how to fix it. All the threads I have come across are about them sticking at WOT.

No probs mate, mine is fine at WOT.

I have heard of people putting an extra spring hanging of them to help it return better? I don't like the idea of this though as it would make you throttle pedal a lot firmer, but maybe something worth a shot?

I found my FAST throttle body already had a lot firmer spring in it than my old throttle body which I didn't like.

Cheers

The NW throttle body doesnt seal on a 102mm FAST feom what everyone on here has posted. Id run your 92mm anyways and save the money. there wont be any power diference between a 92 and a 102mm TB.

Appreciate the reply. My throttle body sticks closed like there is interference between the blade and the housing. It closes fine from the WOT position.

My 102 would stick at idle, I put a couple of drops of oil on the shaft and it seemed to clear it up.

I tried lubing the shaft. It appears that the blade is sticking in the main body.

I installed a black widow tb. It sits fine when it feels like it at idle. But i wen give it throttle wont return to 0%
Hangs open. Idles at 2000. I give it a few revs and falls back in place when it feels like it.
Also hanging the throttle open during driving. keeps at 2-2500rpm.
I can feel it manually that its not returning to 0%.
Alredy moved around, plate.centered it. Lubed the shaft. Feels like its the bearing or shaft inside.
Anybody rebuild tbs?
Any ideas? Replacement springs or parts?

i'm having an issue with my edelbrock 90mm sticking at idle. from idle you have to force the pedal untill it's open and it always makes the car jump. when the car is off the sticking is gone.

could there be so much vacuum at idle keeping the blade closed? other wise it works great. if this were a race only application this would not be a problem, how ever this is a built 6.0 DD. any ideas?

jsmith564: did you get anything figured out on this? My edelbrock 90mm is doing the exact same thing! Plus it's on a magnacharger so when it pops loose it's even worse!
