Default 5.3 heads on ls1?

I was looking around on the internet and found this article online...is it really that easy and cheap to get 500+ rwhp out of an ls1? I've read on another forum that you can pretty much transfer everything from your ls1 heads to the 5.3 heads too, if you were really that cheap (like me). Anyway any info would be helpful. I've looked around on here but havent really found the answers i've been looking for.

Just scroll down and read under -Spec Sheet 500hp LS1-

Thanks.

From the research Iv done I don't think you ll be getting 500 rwhp from 5.3L heads. Close to 500hp to the crank maybe.

This is right. If you take a look at the pictures in the article they are engine dyno-ing. You would be looking at about 440 rwhp with that setup. Still, not bad, especially considering the relatively low lift/low duration cam they put in it. The TEA ported 5.3 heads are magic.
