I havent personally done this yet but have done some research on it. If all your concerned with is the drag times then get the S480. If you want the 9.80's and superior street manners and quicker spool then use a PTE 7675 (older ones are called 76GTS).

I would do the pte 7675 for faster spooling. Would be a great match for the 5.3 and would easy go 9.80's.

3400lbs with boost off the line (you have a tbrake or just a 2step?) you should beable to get there with either 475 or 480. 480 give abit more margin/growth in case you change goals.

With a great 60 foot you only need about 135 mph at that weight which is about 550whp. My friends 4th gen at around 3400lbs goes 132 all motor with 521whp. Ok 60 foots you'd need abit more power to get there. Then again, where you located and whats the typical weather like? DA at the track? Makes a huge difference.

My car left all motor and ran 9.8s but at 141mph. 60 foots were in the lazy 1.5x-1.60 range 3550lbs estimated with 650whp on a stingy mustang dyno, so figure 700-725 on dynojet. 475 will cover that power.

s475 83mm turbine t4 is very comparable to a PT7675 spool and capabilities wise, s475 96mm turbine is a much bigger turbine

hi guys what makes the pte 7675 spool so much better in street driving vs the s480.will they both make the same power or because the pte 7675 spools faster sooner it would make it run better in the top end.what kind of power are these turbos capable of out of a bone stock 5.3 with a real good tune and the right fuel and inner cooling?any info would be great

Basically the S480 is a big heavy unit with larger everything and the PTE unit is small/light with the latest wheel technology and smaller turbine/ AR. Think of it like a set of light forged drag wheels/tires versus and set of heavy cast wheels when accelerating.

The 7675 is capable of near 900rwhp pushing to the limits. Not sure how far anyone has pushed a S480 on a 5.3. The 5.3 really needs a little cam to wake it up though as the stock one is tiny. (you mentioned bone stock)

I don't see why the t76 wouldn't bring you into the 9's. Parish did it with a t70 but his fairmont was probably 600 pounds lighter than your f body
