Default What stock block has longest cylinder walls?

Iron or aluminum, doesnt matter. I'd just like to know which block to look for that has the longest cylinder walls for a stroker build.

Thanks.

Thanks. What is the bore on the LS7 block? is it 4.125? I cant use that. I have a rotating assy, 421, 4.030 bore and a 4.125 stroke. Was planning on a killer turbo setup but due to not wanting to buy a high dollar block if i cant sell it i'll put it together and just make a cruiser w/ 900-1000hp.

Is there a stock block w/ a 4" bore with longer cylinder walls?

Check the PN of the piston against the manufacturer's catalog to see what stroke it is designed to work with. If it is designed to work with a 4.125" stroke, I would think it was also designed to work with the iron block sleeve length (shortest of all) since it is for a 4.030" bore.

The bad news is that pistons designed for a 4.125" stroke in a std deck height block are not recommended to be used with a lot of boost or nitrous because the distance between the pin and the top of the piston gets thin. The rings get hotter since they get moved closer to the combustion and the piston gets inherently weaker.

If you're looking for a 900-1000whp, that rotating assembly is a very poor choice.

^^^^ Not to mention LS7 cylinders are very prone to crack with any power adder....

Long stroke not needed or recommended to make killer power with boost. Best budget boost set-up is an iron based 370. AES 390 is also a good option for not a lot of cash.

Yes, I purchased this stuff a few years back before I realized that. Rather than throwing it away i'd like to utilize it somehow....if I cant sell it. So i'd like to know which block to use.

As long are you aren't trying to make a million HP reliably you will be fine with a 6.0L iron block and the 4.125 crank.

That all comes back to each persons perception of what "a lot" of HP is. 1000hp to the crank would be suffice. This is for my Nova, It was going to be more of a drag car, glide, ect... but i'd rather drive it so probably build a 4l80e for it and make a cruiser.. but still would like it to break into the 8's. An 8.99 is fine.

It would be really cool if someone had all the blocks drawn with all the dimensions on them. A blueprint.
