Default if you had 3g

All confused on what to do with my 05 auto goat. If you had $3000 to spend on upgrades including labor and a tune if needed what would u do? I may be able to go 4g but would rather not

Headers-$400 for Pacesetters. Catback-$800 for SLP LM (but could find a used catback for much cheaper. Svede OTRCAI-$500. Cam-$7-$800 for a cam kit with the necessary upgrades. Tune-$4-500.
If you're completely stock then that's where I would start. You'll be right there in that $3k range with those upgrades. If you take your time and buy smart you have the potential to save a few hundred overall which will give you a start towards purchasing a stall.

Edit:Forgot that you were paying for labor...that changes things. You'll be over the $3k mark with labor.

ok there are many ways to start but the question is what are your goals for the car... street/race or drag or road course

I'm doing drag bags right now. That wheel hop is unbearable (to me at least). They're only $100 and a fairly simple install. Heard they are miracle workers too. Other than that I would probably do headers/exhaust and maybe a cam & tune.

As CHEVBON said drag bags can do wonders. They're cheap and easy to install so if you're thinking about hitting up the strip occasionally they might be worth looking into as well. You can almost always find somebody selling a used set for $50-ish, but you have to trust that they don't leak.

I wouldn't do a cat back. The cat backs on those cars flow pretty good. You only gain like 10 hp with one. I would do a cam, tune, headers, and good high flow cats or off road pipe.

My car is an auto. Was gonna do the drag bags and cradel and differental bushings for sure. Is a cai worth it? I noticed some people have heavy mods but skip that. Even the bobcat 455 skips it

What kind of gains would I see with cam headers and a tune? What should it cost me for labor?

i have a 04 gto and the mods i had when i dynoed it was 214/230 578 598 117-1 lsa or something close to that it was a boost cam that was is the car when i bout it. also stainless works headers, off road mids, spintech x-pipe and spintech mufflers. i made 368/370. if i were you i would do all the bushings and mounts. but just remember if you decide to go the cam exhaust route you need a stall and depending on what else you do later will cause so other issues that will need to be addressed. and yes a cai is worth it just be sure to get a good one even if you have to pay more than what you want to for it. also think of this...a engine is like a turbine the faster you get air in and out the more power you will make

If I had 3k? kooks headers/catted mids, dmh low profile cutouts, monster clutch, gforce1320 anti hop axles, and a one piece aluminum driveshaft.

Wow a quick add up in my head puts all that over 3k haha! but I can dream cant I? The kicker is that even with all that stuff, it would still run high 12's...
