Default Alternator battery line will not come off.

How do I get it the line off. The freaking nut keeps turning the line and the second nut behind the line. I can't get anything small enough on the second nut to hold it. What are you guys using or are you cutting the line and recrimping it?

The battery is diconnected right?
I use a thin 10mm wrench to get it off.
Maybe a sears sells them individually??
I rather keep the stock alternator eyelet connector, a cheap wiring terminal fix there is not the best idea.

I used a 10mm but the second bolt keeps spinning. I think I found my problem with my alternator. In this pic you will see a red wire entering some black opening being held in by some red cap or something of that nature. I noticed my red wire was just hanging around and that red cap is totally missing.

Look at the two nuts. This is my problem. I turn one and the other turns also. I tried to get a needle nose plyer behind there, but can't get a good grip.

Hey!! that's a LT1!!
No but seriously, thats what I mean I wrench on outer nut & there are special "thin" wrenches that can grab that inner one.
That red wire is for the regulator & that is it's connector, not sure if I follow what your saying is the problem with it?

Thanks man. Yeah I know that is an LT, but that connection is the same. My red wire is cut and the plug itself is missing. Thanks for the info. I'm going to get a small 10mm today and get it up in there. Going to remove the alternator regardless so I can find the freaking power steering leak.

I got the alternator off. I need the part number for the field wire plug. I went to a dealer and I had them look up alternator connector and they showed me a 4 wire connector. Gonna try another dealer and use "field wire" as the name. I tried gmparts direct, but couldn't find it.
