Default Turbocharging a nitrous motor, can I make it happen?

I have a buddy of mine that is thinking about changing up from going with nitrous to turbo. The few issues I think he has is that the compression is 11.45:1 and the cam is a nitrous grind. The cam is not a real big issue since it can be changed really easy. My question is will he be able to run boost on that kind of compression? I figure if he changes the headgasket out to .060 gasket it will drop the compression to 10.9:1. Could he get by just running c16 in the tank on that compression? E85 is out of the question since we don't have any pumps around here. The most we have is 10% ethanol.

Here is a rundown of the specs of the motor.

416 Cu in L92 block
PRC ported stock L92 heads with upgraded springs
Callies crank and rods with Wiseco -3cc pistons
Lunati 72532 linkbar lifters
Cometic .040 headgasket
ARP main and headstuds

Running a thick headgasket to Drop your CR is a bad idea. Not to mention 10.9 is still high for a Boosted motor. the real question would be how much power does he want to make and how much boost.

He can but the tuning window will be very small with the heat involved with that much compression and boost. Tell him to bite the bullet and get a new set of pistons, it is in his motor and wallets best interest. Or if its a race car just put it on methanol and he will be fine.

I would say put meth on it and get some 72cc heads.

Are you saying to run straight methanol or run c16 and add meth injection? Pistons are out of the question. He doesn't want to have to tear the engine back down.

L92 heads are already 70cc so 72cc wont make much difference. Will meth be able to control that much compression on boost?

If it's a race car, On C16 it'd be fine. Don't go to L92 heads.

Straight methanol would also be fine. If it's a street car and you can't get E85, it's going to be expensive to stick with that compression.

L92 heads are already on the motor. He doesn't want to have to take them off. We can't get e85 here. It is a street car bjt it doesn't do any daily driver duty. It might go 3 miles one way to work for him once a month. He will sell the engine as a whole before he tears it down to replace heads or pistons.

Does anybody know if a company makes bigger than 72 cc chambers?
