Default 5.7 heads on 5.3 block ?'s

I have an 08 5.3 aluminum block with top pistons, and I have found a set of 2000 5.7 aluminum LS 1 heads for good price. Will they fit and would they be good for boost.

Your heads are better than the ls1 heads, you have the 799's you might actually lose power if you changed to those heads.

I don't have the heads that came with the motor. Just trying to find some heads to complete it. So I can boost it. Thanks for all the info.

The 243 and the 799 are the same casting head, the deference is that Ls6 243's came out with sodium filled valves.

241 heads will give u about .5 lower difference in compression vs the 243 or 799 and if u go 243 or 799 the ls6 243 heads were the best like off the zoo vettes

How much compression are you guys running on these 5.3's when u boost them? Reason asking is that if I go with the stock head on my motor I will running 9.9:1.
