Default LT1 cam swap lacks power?

I finally finished my camaro last night, and it is lacking power.

Mods include: heads shaved 30k, ported and polished, CC503 cam, Long tube pacesetters, and a few small things like msd coil, etc. At the moment I'm running open headers because I havent gotten the ORY yet.

Any ideas on why its lacking power? I know it needs to be tuned, but would that really make such a difference?

Do you have an Lt4 knock module? If not you could be getting false knock readings from the open headers and roller rockers which on turn retards timing....also you need a freaking tune

I'm guessing you upgraded to bigger injectors?

cam swap means YOU MUST GET A TUNE, Christ even an mail order tune will make the car drive-able.

I'd be worried about ruining your engine from the excess fuel being dumped into the cylinders at the least.

Keep in mind this is the first computer controlled car I've done a cam swap on, hence why I didnt know the tune would have such an impact. Also, the injectors are stock.

Ignorance is no excuse....it's always best to do your research BEFORE jumping into modifying your car no matter if carbed or computer controlled or you run into easily preventable problems like you are experiencing now....nothing worse than dumping a bunch of money on your car and having it run worse than when you started This happens a lot on here for some reason lol. Next time, research first, ask questions second; mod last

No tune needed. Most cam swaps require nitrous to really run well. Start at a 200 shot and go up from there. It will run hard, until it doesn't.

K. Without making fun, you need a tune (your car has the chip that needs to be burned). You need the Bosch 28lb injectors (Ford older redtop large size type). DO NOT run the new injectors without a tune, you will ruin your engine.

"Lacking Power" is very vague... How much power do you suppose it is lacking??
