So my EAS was April 22nd after 12 years in the Corps. I was involutarily seperated as a Sergeant. I qualified for full seps pay and all. I also sold back about 20 days of leave.

Come the Friday of 27th I still havent received my final pay, so I call our s1 shop. They say it should be a few more days. Cool.

Come May 4th, I still havent been paid. I call the s1 shop and again talking to the s1 chief. Well it turns out that disbursing kicked back my package and never told them. So it sat in limbo. They resubmit it. On the 8th Im told by my old s4 chief that disbursing accepted it and it should be 10 days.

Well now its May 21st almost a month exactly to the day I got out. I still havent received my final pay, my travel pay, my sold back leave or my early seps pay. I call the s1 chief again only to find out that disbursing sent my package back again and its apparently been sitting there for days....again.

Now Im waiting to hear back from the s1 chief again. Meanwhile my bike almost got repoed because I told them I was going to pay it off in full weeks ago. They literally showed up at my door to take my bike. I had the pay off amount in my account thankfully....but now Im pretty tapped and once again Im getting fucked by the green weenie. Its been a while, but they did manage to get me one last time...real good. Did I mention I have other bills I skipped this month with intentions of paying them off completely? I love telling bill collectors the same thing 27 times.

So they just seperated you just cause?

And screw selling leave...you get F'd due to the taxes.

Finance is horrible as well in the Air Force.

^^You have to pick up Staff Sergeant within 13yrs....

Curious as to what MOS you were and why you kept getting passed over.

5811

only deployed once in 2002...although my srb has no record of it, lol also did 3 years of recruiting successfully. I received an njp on recruiting for driving with a suspended license, which they made a huge deal out of. Also you have to pick up staff by 10 years now.

Aside from the njp Ive always ran 1st class pft / cft, rifle expert / pistol expert. Its just one of those things. At this point I could give a fuck less about ever being staff, I would just like what they owe me so I can get on with my life.

Wow. Times how they change. I tried to get back in in 2007 and was denied due to a "full sleeve tattoo" which I had when I was ACTIVE DUTY.

Blows man. Here's to hoping you get your money

Yeah they are trying to make it to where you cant have anything past your elbow in the army. But i feel your pain i spent 5 months waiting to get my bonus annd i had the same problem it got kicked back and sat on someones desk for months without anyones knowledge. The green weenie knows no bounds

not to play the bad guy, but by looking at your sig (and knowing nothing else lol), you think you may be a little over leveraged for a sergeant?

regardless of that, you of course deserve your pay. does your mypay acct show your final travel claim as processed? what about your final LES? anything totally off on it?

lastly, idk what your relationship is like with your old boss, but how about getting him involved? call me crazy, but any Marine of mine i consider mine for good, even if they pcs or eas, so if they had a problem i could put some fire on, i am there for them. to bn s1, you may just be some eas'd thorn in ther side, but to your boss you were a real Marine, worthy of s1's best service.

on a side note, have you been to dental at the VA for your free check? applied for any disability you plan to claim?

5811, thats nbc right? haz-mat units here in tx, from the local volunteer FD on up, are looking for trained people, so if you're looking for work in that field, maybe its the same where you are.

I own a restaurant, thats why I could really care less if I picked up staff or not. 5811 is MPs though. I have my old unit involved, the problem is that disbursing doesnt contact the s1 shop when they kick things back. Shit just sits in limbo until someone realizes they are not getting paid. Its a complete horse shit way to run a business. I mean it actually happened to me twice, and the second time they told me disbursing had my package and already accepted it.

32 days and I still havent been paid. They said they fixed it and sent it back to disbursing again. Now wait another 10 days. Semper Fi?

still remember, its a package deal. all the little elements gotta be right before kansas breaks you off the bread. the leave sold back, the final travel claim, all that has to be proper. you got copies of all your shit right? FWIW, you'd rather them get it correct now than come back in a year or two talking 'bout you owe them money, plus interest.

That sucks, about everything. We have a couple guys in my shop that are at that limit too except since they can't reenlist and haven't even been looked at yet, they can only do extensions in 1 year increments, either until they are looked at and pick up or get passed over OR they never get looked at and hit 13 and forced out.

I hope your pay stuff get taken care of, I would go crazy if that happened to me!

I think most everybody gets screwed by the military some how... I was a E-1 for 24 months and I never got back paid. Then they rushed me to E-4 (which is automatic at 24 months) and before I got out I got trash talked because I didn't want to re-up. I did my time and I'm glad I did but it was a train wreck! I hope you get it straight man, you def deserve your money.

I have no clue?! I kept say something everywhere I went and all they kept saying was that I must have done something at basic or AIT or jump school.... Nobody gave a shit is what it was. I was a hold over after AIT for months and the when I got out of jump school I got put in a leg unit. Really?! After they got me to an E-4 they were getting pressure to promote and I refused to study for the E-5 board and actually got written up with less than 2 months left in the army! I met a lot of good guys and served my country but that's the only good things I can say....

Sorry to hear about that. I've had the same thing happen with the leave days I sold on my last re-enlistment. Hope things get straightened out

Its been another week of not getting paid. I can literally do all the math involved to determine my final settelment in about 10 minutes, why should it take them over a month?

slowpoke96z28
05-31-2012, 06:27 PM
maybe they figure you'll re-up and get things back to the way they like it. they know its a 50/50 shot a Marine will re-up cause he couldn't go this long without pay.

I think your first problem was expecting Finance to actually do their job. I don't know how it is in the Corps, but in the AF they have mandatory PT from 0800-1030, lunch from 1030-1300, mandatory training from 1300-1430, "work" from 1430-1500, then it's time to go home.

Well Wednesday is here and I still havent gotten paid. Thank you Marine Corps for caring so much about your Marines. At least if I was in I could just not show up to work until things got settled. This is fucking stupid now. I now havent been paid a dime by them since April 13th.

do you still have IRR time? if so, its time to contact MIRSO if you are not paid by friday start of business. 1.800.255.5082. see what they can do. i knew it wouldn't be by today though. it does not work that fast when everything DOES go right.

Stop being a bitch and go get shit taken care of. No wonder you got the boot. You take "get fucked" as an answer and go on about your day hoping shit will work itself out. Not gonna happen in this Marine Corps sorry.

Well thats a great attitude. Im sorry I expect Marines to do their jobs. Maybe my expectations of the Corps are higher than yours. Oh, I know you want me to do it. Well i'll just create an account for what ever the fuck the pay nerds use and figure the shit out on my own. Maybe since you know so much you can log on and do the shit? With jerk offs like you, im fucking glad im out. They do tend to retain the brainless fucks anyhow.

Now back in reality, I took a trip to ft wood yesterday to raise the b.s. flag. Everything appears to be done correctly this time and I should be paid by the moring. Who the fuck knows though.

I literally just LMAO'D. I must say, I'll have been in the Corps 10 yrs on Oct. 28th and I've never seen someone take "I'll get it taken care of" so long. It's your pay brother, take your pissed off ass to disbursing, find out what they need, then go back to your former unit, get it signed off on, filled out, photo-copied, tramp stamped, whatever, and take it back up there. I've never run any pay issue through S-1, seeing as S-1 doesn't really have much control over it. With this type of stuff, if you don't follow up to the point of them getting tired of hearing from you, then it'll never get fixed.

Oh and sorry to hear about your separations. Alot of good Marines are getting seperated bc of the draw-down. Whether it's due to bad paperwork, procrastination on re-up packages, not being competitive for promotion, or just being a total fat shit slipping through the cracks, reality is what it is. I hope you get it fixed brother.

Seps disbursing is in San Diego, I live near St Louis. I got taken care of a few days after my last post. I was stressing because I was relying on that money to fund the move for my restaurant. Everything is good now, even bought myself a 64 nova, lol.

It's been interesting watching this.
It's been almost 44 years since I was active duty(two tours with Lima 3/4 in Vietnam as a grunt) and I see that the green weenie is still around screwing with Marines.
Nothing changes it seems.
Of course back in my day E5s often went past 20 years without getting booted for not making Staff.
I want to say thank you for your 12 years service to the Marine Corps and to your country.
I know you are pissed off right now about how the Corps treated you but I feel you should continue your service to your country.
I'm pretty sure you could get in a guard or reserve unit of the air force or army. They both need MPs and would probably jump at the chance to have a 12 year active duty vet in their unit.
I served with guys that got out of the Corps and went to other services and are now retired, one guy as a full colonel!
Retirement, medical and travel bennies come to guys who retire from the reserves.
Those things might not mean much now to a guy in his 30s but the years will fly by faster than you'll believe.
I'm a disabled vet and my wife and I both get our excellent health care from uncle sam and I'm damn glad of it.
Good luck in what ever you do.

Im currently stuck in the restaurant industry and in the works of opening our second restaurant. Somehow it pays more than Uncle Sam used to pay me. lol. I would rather be a hobo than join another branch. Semper Fi.
