Default 09 5.3 and f-body pan wont fit

swapping a f-body pan out on the truck so we can lower the motor down in the chassis for the bodydrop. long story just trying to get the motor as low as possible so the truck can set on the ground. anyways the camaro oil pickup hangs down and hits the pan. why?

Bend it up. Should have 1/4"-3/8" clearance between the pickup and pan. If not, you can usually "manipulate" the pickup with a soft mallet.

The easiest solution might be to get the correct pick-up tube for the F-body pan. The trucks and F-bodies use different pans, windage trays, and pick-up tubes that all need to jive together!

If the parts you got are correct, then maybe the pickup tube isn't seated all the way in the pump? Does the bolt hole on the pickup tube line up correctly with the main stud?

sounds like the parts guy screwed up; I've never seen a pn on a p/u tube; compare the tube to a Fbod tube

I C5 tube uses the opposite hole in the pump for attachment; not sure if the Fbod is unique in the dozens(guessing here) tubes avail for the LS motors

I'm guessing the oil pump isn't shimmed for a x2 roller chain?
