Default Help with tire choice

So after waiting over a month the tire store called and said my rims will be in this week. I ordered TT going 9 in the front and 10 in the back. i told the guy i wanted some lip in the rear so i hope they come the way i want them. Now he recommended running 255 in the front and 285 in the rear. He also suggested the Nitto 555's. Im here looking for advice because if i recall reading here on the forums i can go wider in the rear so let me hear some recommended sizes width profile and brand please. the car is going to start seeing minimal track time so i want a good street tire and something that hooks up fairly decent at the track. they are going on a 02 Z

A nitto 555r may be your best bet for the rear and regular 555 for the front. The sizes he recommended sound right, a 295 would maybe work in the back

I would do 295 like he stated and those tires would be great!

^This.

If you have 10.5's you can probably go 305 or 315, everyone else does

305's for sure, 315's most likely but it would be a good idea to get an adjustable panhard bar just to be sure. Keep in mind that if you lower in the future, it may become a problem even with the phb.

Ya i run 315 toyo r888 proxe drag radials on a 10.5. I did the bfh mod which is get a rubber mallet and just hit the inner fender in just a little mine dont rub at all and i pick up the front on launches pretty hard. I know people run 315 nitto tires too with no prob i would for sure run a 315 either one i mention are great wide and great traction tires.

if you get one it would need to be adjustable so that you can get the axle perfectly centered in the car so neither side rubs.

I would run the factory sized 275 in the front, unless its a drag car only, then a smaller wheel/tire wouldn't matter...but that's mho

Then I would still keep the 275 in the front. A little more meat on the road isn't going to hurt your daily.

you could get a 315 in a Nitto if you don't mind a little "cheating"

Nitto goes from a 285/40 to a 315/35 in their street tire 555, In an 18" they have a 305 DR..
