LS wiring harness PSI- modern vintage or speartech
wondering what pros/cons are for various harness makers
i dont want stock wiring-- i dont feel like rewiring it myself - even though i am able..
i have seen techrods on ebay(i dont think they do ls2 auto though)
psi is a vendor here
modernvintage --
etc// i know there are many-- not looking for a `1k harness--
specifically want to know about psi and modern vintage if anyone has seen both
and if modern vintage is equal to speartech or ??

John @ Speartech does a great job, with great customer service. Their custom harnesses are somewhat less than 1k. Long after I acquired a reworked harness, he continues to provide follow-up, with timely answers to my questions.

I know both Speartech & PSI both make great harnesses, but you really need to compare apples to apples when buying a stand alone harness as to what all it comes with as far as fuel, fan relays, cruise wires DBW or DBC does it come with pedal, tac module, programmed PCM. It comes down to all of the little extras that you may or may not have to buy later that really add up, in my case I'd rather pay a little more up front and not have the aggravation of it not working right.
I have seen too many posts where people cobble set ups together and then are posting if this pedal or tac is compatible with this or that and which O2 sensors do I need and then a handful of why do I keep getting this code or that code?
You really get what you pay for usually on these swap harness vendors, with the old phrase you can pay me now or pay me later.
And then you will get the I bought his harness and that pedal and this tac and it works great and I only spent $150.00 and my engine runs great, well except for this code and that code.

You can't beat PSI...Honestly I have heard that Speartech does awesome work, but they are freakin OVER PRICED!!
I got an LS1 harness from PSI, BRAND NEW/Stand Alone and it was only $500!
Thats what Spear Tech wanted to mod a stock harness...

so far everyone i have talked to everything is a la carte..
i will try calling psi today-- keep forgetting till after 2 my time and theyre closed as back east
DBW pedals dont come with any harness that i have seen
neither do computers
nor does a vats flash
modern vintage will separate the cruise wires and dbw for no additional cost so on the more elaborate systems thats a plus..

PSI Harness hands down...
makes no sense to get a re-worked harness for the same price you can get brand new..... the only way to to get a cheaper harness is to thin it out yourself....
check this clip out, it explains it all..

i purchased mine from psi and its an awesome harness.....only thing i woulda asked them todo is send me the harness with out split loom on it and just bare wires.....the way they harness distributed behind the intake didnt work so well in my aplication but other than that simple thing its an awesome harness.....also bought the computer and maf sensor from them.....im sure you can buy the pedal, computer, maf and o2s from them all at the same time so you get all the right stuff.

Anybody use Howell for their harness? I had a local LS1 guru recommend them, said that they are very clean and have been in the industry for years. Anyone?
