Default T56 Poll

Just like to know for those that are pushing 600+ LB FT of torque, have you had any tranny issues with a stock T56? I am hoping I didn't spend big bucks on mine for nothing. As of now I am at 649 lb ft of torque now and should go up some with a little more Huff...

I wouldn't expect a stock T-56 to last long under that power if you plan on racing often. They are pretty strong but will definitely need some upgrades to hold that power.

I don't have 600 rwtq....but I dunno, I think that is pushing it for the 28 spline main shaft. I would upgrade to the viper spec 30 spline at your power level....if Dodge felt it a necessary upgrade it for only 450 ft/lb 20 years ago in the Viper....stands to reason it's a good idea for 600+ RWTQ in an even HEAVIER car with more stress on it in a racing environment...JMO

Yea the tranny is being built to the viper spec, hardened shaft 30 or 32 spline I forgot, or course the larger yoke and 1350 joint, billet keys, something about the second gear ect..I know, its like everything else, the more power / torque the more other things will break, this is the final piece in the puzzle, The entire drive train, suspension is upgraded, the trans was the last weak link, Thanks, I feel better now but my wallet still hurts.

Moe
I think you need to contact Taner on this, he has destroyed a few t56s and clutches in the past 10 years so he would definitely be one to consult.
