Apexi AVCR: anyone use it?
ill start by giving some info on my build. I have a 4.8 with a 76mm turbo in my 89 camaro. I have it running but still needs dyno tuned before it can be reliably driven. question 1: should
I have it tuned before I even start to install the controller?
question 2: how was the programming process? Can any of you give me a writeup on your process?
and finally, is this controller THAT much better than having a manual controller.
let me know what you guys think about the avcr.

The problem with manuals compared to this is you have one setting. With this if you hit your peak boost and it starts to die off up top you can increase wastegate duty cycles to hold boost up top. You can not do that on a manual. Also in various gears you may need less wastegate (higher gears with more load) and with this you can have lower wastegate duty in those gears. I think they are pretty nice units. Were it me, I would use it or get one with similar features.

It's a free market. Use whatever works for you. Wired up wrong is not an option on 3 different cars and 3 different installers. They had a batch of bad units imho. I caught mine....two others were not so lucky.
