Arrow Do I need to change parts....

Im want to get the TSP 228 (112lsa) cam for my camaro. I currently have a baby cam (see sig) and when it was first put in the pushrods were changed to chromemoly 7.4s, the retainers were changed to comps steel valve retainers, the valve springs were changed to 918 comp beehives. These parts have roughly 15K miles on them.

My question is, when i go to change the cam, do i have to change these three things? Do i have to change anything else beside these things? Thanks for all the help guys.

Pushrods should be measured as always but I don't see why the rest wouldn't be fine

With 15k miles on the springs already I would just change them out. Its peace of mind knowing a spring isnt gonna break and drop a valve.

Personally, I'd sell the beehives and go with dual springs. May not be COMPLETELY necessary, but as above poster said, its a peace of mind, and once you go with duals, you won't have to worry if you eve go any larger with your cam.

Replace any gaskets that you pull off during the swap. I would anyways

so technically i could go just a cam and new gaskets and call it a day? i may get new springs, they were gently used since being brand new.

Pretty much, definitely check push rod length though. I'm in the process of doing that now too..

I agree with this. Duals are the way to go.

Don't forget a trunion upgrade kit. Tsp has them for $140 I believe and it's a good upgrade for your rockers...another thing for peace of mind..after that you should be set.

It cost to play. That SHOULD be the last thing on the list though, and it's still cheaper than buying all new rockers.
