Default How much to gain from S475 to S480?

Dr. Turbo will machine my cover and put a new impeller on my S475 (T6 1.32AR) for ~300 which essentially turns it into a S480. I think I am currently running out of turbo as the car picked up basically no MPH going from 16psi to 20psi.

Just trying to figure out if it is cost effective to spend 300 for a 5mm larger turbine or not.

I don't think I am running into back pressure issues as it only takes 22psi on the gate to make 20psi at the manifold. I think the compressor is just not moving enough air currently.

I dunno bro, there are guys going 5.30's@130mph with the S475 T6 1.32 with similar sized engines in our local RS275 class that have to weigh 3050-3150lbs.

What does your stang weigh with you in it...<3200lbs?

I'd imagine it is somewhere in that range. Just not sure what else to think since the car doesn't pick up with 4lbs more boost.

Theres a 300 horsepower difference between the 75 and the 80.

Are the other aspects of the tuneup the same? Or did you raise boost and lower timing?

I wouldnt go bigger than the 83mm compressor with that turbo as a single. The 88 works better with the 96mm turbine on much smaller inch applications. Seen higher than expected backpressure as a single. For that its best to go to the S500 chassis.

$300 for 300 hp seems like a no brainer to me. Did I miss something, or have you said how many cubic inches you're talking about?

I just switched from a GT76/94 that made killer power for a 76 to a S480 with race cover/92mm turbine. I'm now making 24~25 psi of boost where GT76 was done at 18~20. S480 is burning same amount of fuel at 7000' elv as GT76 would use at sealevel.

What kind of power or mph is it making with the 75? Does it have an intercooler? Maybe your hitting a wall somewhere else?

Why the 92mm turbine over the 96?
