Default car okay without rear springs?

got a friend who wants the stock springs from the rear of my project car. The car wont be running probably for another year or so, and I know I wont be running the stock springs anyways.

Just wondering if it's physically okay/possible for the car to be without springs?

What about without jacks? Just sitting on the wheels. the car may need to be rolled from time to time, just wondering if that's okay with just the shocks in and no springs.

Nope... springs are part of the suspension that keeps the car suspended above the axle. Can't remove the springs and have the car weight on wheels.

You could stick some makeshift blocks in there. You could make some out of 2x4's.

Normally it would sit on the rubber bump stops, but from your sig pic, it looks like your wheels would hit the fenders! It probably wouldn't be good to sit on the stops for an extended time anyway, so I agree with the other guys, just put a block in there.

It's not the trans am, It's my Camaro I have for a project. The car is completely gutted, just sitting there.

Are the bumpstops the only concern? I can easily swap those out at the time I get rolling with the project.

I can't see why there would be a problem, as long as there are no clearance issues with exhaust, or wheels. Other then that....what's the worse that could happen, a rut in your bump stops??

Yeah, if you go that route I would lower it pretty slow to make sure they don't bend. Been a long time since I looked at that spot closely, but they seemed pretty stout.

There won't be any issues if you still have bumpstops, not sure where all the miss-information is coming from.

I have moved mine without springs before. I had poly bumpstops installed though. I don't see why it would be a problem if you still had the factory bumpstops installed, just make sure the factory ones are in halfass decent shape. A lot of the factory bump stops for these cars are almost dust.
