5.3 heads on 5.7 ls1, coil pack question
I am sure this has been discussed before, I have failed finding the right info I need.
In April I threw a rod bearing, and have not been able to drive the car since.
I recently had an engine rebuilt, not the one that's in the car (98 Z28). I just got the engine out and started swapping parts over... and then I realized the engine that was rebuilt, the guy who rebuilt it put 5.3 heads on it (casting 862). Now I have paid for the machining/porting and all the work done on the engine/heads. They are practically brand new. Now my problem is, the coil packs from my car do not directly bolt onto the 5.3 heads. I would hate to have to use my original 5.7 heads, that have not been machined/ported and possibly issues with them.
Is there a conversion kit that I can buy to use my existing harness/coil packs, to where I can bolt them on? I know this has been done before, but am I going to have to buy a whole new harness? or can I get by with my harness and get a kit that will bolt onto the valve covers to where I can use what I have now. I am on a budget, but I need to know what direction to go into first. If anyone has any info on this, please do tell. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

call gm and you can order the coil pack brackets for a 99 Camaro z28 with a 5.7L and they only cost about $15.00 each.
Go to a hardware store and buy some metric bolts to bolt the coil packs to the brackets and the brackets to the valve covers with and that is all you need to do. It shouldn't cost you very much at all to make them work.
If you have any questions pm me.

Yes, its technically the valve covers, they are now center bolt. after some further research I found that PN# 12563288 seems to be what I need. Sorry, it has been a long day of pulling out the engine and swapping parts over. Thanks for everyone's input. It is much appreciated.
