Default Anyone know the LT1's "Oil Pump Drive" Dimensions ?

All -

My oil pump drive failed - the plastic portion broke at the hole for the hold-down bolt.

So, I replaced the unit - no problem.

However, after I buttoned everything up, my brother suggested machining an Aluminum unit for me, and I only had the old / broken unit for him to measure.

So, can anyone give me the spacing between the two holes on the top of the oil pump drive unit and the thickness of the plastic material around the hold-down bolt?

Thanks!

Shon Herron makes one already if you're pressed for time.

YES!

I saw that he did (past tense) make them - but as of a month ago, I could not find a valid / working web site, email address, or PH # for him - if you have one LMK!

Thanks!

Both units I've purchased from the local Chevy dealer were metal shafts encased in plastic. Was yours a 'special' GM High Performance unit?

If so, do you know the P/N or can you get me the dimensions I need so I can have my brother fabricate one?

LMK - Thanks!

Just buy one of these for the stock unit. Made by a member here. http://pro-jectioneng.com/ Far less expensive and just as effective.

Same here...I "bookmarked" his webpage, "Herron Performance", several months ago, but the link no longer works.

A flat piece of sheetmetal has very little strength to it. I made one that's a u channel and 100x stiffer than that.
