Default Faded white paint

My 99 TA white has seen better days. I had my bumper repainted and it is brighter then the rest of the car. Is there anyway to brighten the old white paint up? What usually fades, yellows, the clear?

I don't believe there is a way to make the paint any brighter besides doing something temporary like waxing or something... not 100% sure.

I'm kind've in the same boat as you, I can't decide whether or not to just have my bumper repainted or get the whole car repainted.

try a good clay bar on the car. that will take off anything thats on the paint. then go back with a good wax. if the bumper doesnt match then, the body shop just didnt match the paint. have them repaint it.

I had the body shop paint the bumper to match the nos white plate filler, not the faded paint. The bumper looks bright like my dads 5k mile white Ta.

sound's like you are the one that told em to do a different paint.. they should have matched the one the car not anything else.

I did want them to do different paint. I want the car to look new and bright. Eventually the whole car will be painted anyway. Just wondering if the rest of the car can be brought back to the bright white it started out as in 99.

you need to clay the car and then buff it. it will look alot better. if there are no peeling issues or spots where the clear is faded completely away then you can probably get it to look descent

I say wets and and buff. But if you're going to put that kind of effort into it may as well paint it. Clay bar is going to get all the grit and grime off it but if the paint is actually faded its not going to do anything for it. If its just ground in dirt it will help.
