stock 5.3 with turbo help
I would like to first say i am new here and love spending hours looking at all the builds. You guys are amazing at what you can build and tune. I want to say thank you first and foremost for any info.
I am looking at doing a comepletely stock 5.3 with a single turbo in my 64 Chevy II. Is it feaseable to do it all with tranny 4l80 for under $3000. Also what all would i need? I am very good a building and metalwork so no problem there. Thank you for any help

Did you read that sticky at the top?
It's a good start. I've seen people make more with less than $3k so I'd say it is very possible... But it's just how you go about doing it

Sure it can be done but spend very carefully. What all would you need? Thats a pretty vague question but Ill try.
$200 5.3
At least a set of valvesprings
Ebay head studs, replaced one at a time
Used On3 76, Turbonetics TC76, etc.
80lb hi imp injectors
budget PTC converter
used 80E with Transgo HD2 kit or mod it to dual feed direct clutches
mod a stock truck harness and ecm (LT1swap.com)
couple walbro 255's

Your gonna have to use used stuff and/or china equip.
A good new w/g is like 300.00, BOV 250-300, injectors 300.00+. 1000.00 right there.
So far I purchased a 96 Stang and doing a basic 5.3 turbo deal. I cant see me doing this for less than 11k. This includes the price of the car, cage, and wheels, gauges - using all used stuff/china

Th400 setup is good! Don't get discouraged. I did a 5.3 single 70mm swap in a guys Camaro for $5000 including my labor. The naysayers just have not smartly shopped or fell victim to the snowball effect.
I like the Precision 46mm wastegate for $315 and the china bov from Race Parts Solutions or VSracing. You could use a china 44mm gate and no blow off valve for the ultimate cheapy setup.$125 total.

I would do Ebay gt45 ($240), emusa 38mm wastegate ($55), Ebay bov ($50), Ebay intercooler ($120), ls6 springs ($60), siemens 60lb injectors ($340), ecm/harness from junkyard ($100), twin walbro 255's ($160) and then hp tuners ($500). Then get some hot/cold pipe and fuel fittings with reg and all extra little ****. So that's roughly $1525 in the list i posted and lets just say $500 in all the extra stuff you'll need. It may not be the best combo but its in your budget atleast

Thank you all for helping me out. I have heard 68,70,76 for the turbo. Which really will be best for mainly street driving. Like to be 550+. Also i have heard the Bosch 044 pump for external. I would rather go external if i could. What radiator do you need to use? Also injectors have heard 60 and 70?
Thanks guys

Is it wise for me to run E85? Its easy for me to get here so thats a plus. I would assume i would need to jump up to 80lb injectors? Also i dont really need a BOV?
Thanks once again
