Default What is the BEST LSx How To Book?

Hey All,
I'm new to this LS engine stuff and in the middle of a 2003 Porsche 996 LS3 Transplant. I'm gonna need some basic understanding on how these engines are computer controled and need to buy some reading material to study up on. I've seen a few books advertised and thought I'd get your opinions on what YOU like. Also check out my progress at

Thaks for your help
Mike

I know that there is a list of books somewhere that has been stickied but I can't remember where I have seen it.

i've seen a few books on ebay, but there's enough info on this sight you shouldn't have any problems. i suggest a nice stand alone harness to save a lot of time & head aches. stand alone will get the motor running, then you just need to wire up your gauges.

Here's the bad news. There is none. As popular as swapping the LS is, there is no ideal book to follow that covers each swap. If you want to keep your ABS, dash, fuel system, air bags, etc. and run an LS engine with EFI and have everything work like you bought it that way, your going to be really unhappy. Were not that far along yet. Integrating ECMs is not yet possible. If you just want to install an LS and don't care about what works and if it's legal or not, that's a different story. When it's possible to have an ECM that some aftermarket company builds that can run the "entire car" regardless of make , engine, etc. then, we'll all go the next level in this hobby. Untill then it's BS and bandaides.
