Default Who has the best heads hands down?

It seems like everybody is on par, what distinguishes one from the rest?

I hear good things about all.

Why are the GTP heads so much money?? Are they that much better?

This is all subject to opinion of course but I'd like to keep it factual.

sorry if this post seems like a teenager(I'm 30 btw ) asking dumb questions, I just want to know what has consistently made the most power?

I'm looking to do a heads/cam A4 (02 SS) car that is a daily driver. I have money to do the "right" mods so with that in mind, can the experts shed some light? Goal is to go as fast as possible with perfect streetability. Is this possible?

Thank you

There are many good companies that do head porting its not all in the "Best Heads" is all comes down to a combo. If they put together a combo that works well together you will have much better results than if you just through "the best parts available" at your car. You should be choosing by a recomendation and customer service.

Call Joe Prince. He flows with the best of them. However, there is no answer to your direct question as it's all about the package. You should match the cam specs to the head to optimize the package.

Make Sense ?

And I think Nasty Performance is a great name for a company.

Well customer service with the vendors on this board seems to be A+.

Let me reask the question a different way.

Who has consistently made the most power with their stage 2 head/cam combos?

My observation seems to be Thunder and MTI.

Alot of guys have different head cam combos that seem to work well too.

I'm just trying to figure out what packages have consistently made the best all around power.

I'm not too up to snuff on nasty performance. (you may want to change that name, btw. )

I've heard from many sources that Lingenfelter (sp) provides the best heads. His pice is up there though.

"Goal is to go as fast as possible with perfect streetability."

You have two conflicting goals there. Also, "perfect streetability" is quite subjective, although it's more the cam than the heads that determine it. What some call streetable, others call a "galloping beast" and vice versa. You could get some killer heads and combine them with a mild cam to get very good streetability, but you would be wasting a lot of money on the heads, because they wouldn't work to their potential. See the problem? I'm guessing though what you want is an MTI B1 with their Stage 1 heads.

There is alot of good company's out there.Talk to a few and see what they recommend for your setup.Remember if you want the best results you'll have to invest in all the bolt'ons, right Headers and have it tuned in.

I don't see any conflictual statements when I stated that I want a car that has perfect streetability but can still run fast..All that is , is a challenge.

I like what I saw in that RMS package. Very nice graph within a 6300 rpm limit.

I'm going with a stage 2 head package most likely.
Absolute looks like he has the best bang for the buck. It looks like the TR 224 cam is the one that is not gonna be too nasty for me on the street, However if I can run a bigger cam I'd like to know which one. I like what I saw with g5x2 cam but I saw the specs and I saw the grapsh with stock heads and ported heads, and was floored to say the very least. I don't want to flycut pistons .

I'm going with a Texas Speed and Performance likd

Bauer TB

Grott or possibly PPC longtubes with a 3-3.5" y pip with cats, into a Mufflex 3-3.5" cat back exhaust.

Possibly I might go with a 3.73 gear.

My goal is at least 400 rwhp without having to go to to high rpm (6800 rpm +) with a nice broad torque curve (350 ft lbs +) all throughout

Converter I would like approx a 3500 stall, not sure which to go with whether its a st 3500, vig 3200, or ss 3600..

With all that in mind I'm hoping to do 11.2's or better pretty much full weight minus spare and with lightweigh wheels all around.

What do ya'll think?

I agree with Micah, AAP heads IMO are the best out there. My 5.3 heads flowed 320 intake @ .600", my new 6.0 heads for the 388 flow intake 352 cfm @ .600" lift and exhaust 240 cfm @ .600" lift These flow numbers again are with 6.0 LS1 heads 2.08 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves. And his prices are much lower than MTI's or GTP's. Just my .02

excuse me "thedave" but I am allowed to do my research and ask questions if I want. I was interested in your heads till I found they were completely disassembled. I wrote you emails but you haven't responded so don't cop an attitude with me ok?

O and for your information I pick up my SS Tuesday.

Like I have to tell you any of this anyway..

I like what I see about AAP heads too.

Most likely I will start with a TR 224 ll4 lsa cam and see how that goes.

I would like to get some ls6 heads to get 10-15 hp more and so that I can take my heads off and slap those on so I don't have any downtime.

thanks all for responding.

GTP!! There heads are top notch and Craigs service is awsome!! I've dealt w/him numerous times working with Madman and co racing....

He's working on a set of stage 2 heads for me right now...Probably get them in a few weeks but I tell you they stage2's I've seen come out of there have flowed over 300 and made mild cam/bolt on cars do 420 plus.
