To get every last bit out, yes.

Will it harm anything if you don't, no.

Do you need it no. Will it help with power and drivability yes. I would get all your bolt ons then get a tune.

Since you are not removing the rear O2's, no. As long as you are not taking off AIR or EGR you will be fine.

Lemons12 is correct. We always recommend getting a tune to get the most out of your headers, but it is not always required. Let me know if I can help with anything else.

I have installed a Spohn torque arm and have an adjustable panard bar and rear lower control arms on order, I will have them installed as well as the headers and y-pipe and wait untill the end of driving season in Manitoba , Canada to install the LG G5X3 cam and Comp valve spring kit as well as a Spec aluminum flywheel and clutch kit before I get a tune .

I was told the weak link is my rear end , a Torsen Gleason 3:73 ratio , it is a 10 bolt , if I do not do 3000 dumps with sticky tires I should be OK , but if I get stupid and blow it up , not to bother to fix it and put in a 12 bolt . What is recomended ?

It could go with street tires from a 30 roll or it might last 30 passes with DRs..

Take it easy and don't do any hard DR launches... If it goes and you have the coin to upgrade then go with a 9"... If not get a used stock rear for 300$ or so and take it easy on that one.

I put on a set of 17 " American Racing torque thrust M's , black spokes with a polished rim , for tires 245/45 and 275/40 BFG , I do not do drops in 1st but let the car get rolling and do not hammer first , I get on it in second and shift at about 4 grand about 50 mph , I live in the country and most of my driving is on the highway . The car is being built more as a road race car as opposed to a drag car .

Very nice headers and y-pipe w/cats , I am a machinist with 32 years in aerospace , the car has a SLP muffler , what does Kooks have ? that is not too loud but still has a bit of a rumble . Working evening shift , I do not want to be a "heat score " going home .

VR-1 Conventional.. I run 20-50 but I have different tolerances than you since I have a 408 and a 370. Something around a 10-30 would be fine.

Ac Delco/Wix/Napa Gold/K & N for the filter..

Yes... With machining, crank, pistons, and rods.

How would a tune turn a 346 CI Ls1 into a 383? Or any motor for that matter change CI.
