400whp still possible??
so long story short my ls6 is quite possibly cracked somewhere and and is causing a massive vacuum leak, so i am switching back to my ls1 intake the car has the current mods tsp v3 cam, tsp prc 2.5 ls6 heads, bosch ev1 #42lb injectors, ls6 ported oil pump, tci 3000 stall, trunion upgraded roller rockers, as of right now the car IS NOT tuned, my tuner couldnt tune it with the vacuum leak so im curious if you guys think i can still hit the 400whp mark with all my mods with the ls1 intake vs the ls6??

Why does everyone suggest this I picked up some carb cleaner and then my friend was like " you know that stuff eats through plastic like acid right?" Is this true or not?

we already did this and there was no change, i thought it was maybe because the car wasnt tuned but when i brought it to new era performance mike the owner said he couldnt tune it due to a massive vacuum leak coming from the intake. hence why im switching back to the ls1 for now until i can get my hands on a fast intake. plus the ls6 i bought was off ebay and the car it came off was in an accident which leaves me to believe something is up with it.

New era is suppose to be pretty good. When "we" checked for the vacuum leak were you using HP Tuners or the like or something else?
What I'm saying is, if it has THAT big of vacuum leak I have a hard time believing it can't be found. It's either the intake gaskets, throttle body gasket or the rear of the intake where the brake booster and MAP is.
Added. Or the intake itself is cracked.
What type of steam tubes are you using?

when mike at new era had the car hooked up using his diagnostic software the drivers side was running very lean he was saying that the leak was coming from the drivers side of the intake mostly, when the car is at idle you can hear a "howling" coming from the drivers side. makes no sense being that the gaskets are brand new and made sure the intake was torqued to spec and sequence. mike suggested that the intake was cracked...

still the ls1 style, i bought the intake with the bottom already shaved, i had checked the bottom after i pulled the intake off thinking that possibly whoever shaved it dug to deep but nothing it was clean underneath no cracks underneath or in any of the runners. the intake clears the tubes just fine

you said you have PRC heads, did you have them shaved for higher compression, if so this will put your intake closer to the valley cover.
even with the intake ribs shaved down, some people still need to flatten the LS1 tubes to an oval shape to fit, just an fyi
oh and about the 400rwhp, i think you should still make it, i have the same heads with smaller cam, and i made 440rwhp

i had mentioned in my first post that new era couldnt tune the car because there was a vacuum leak coming from the intake, so hence y im asking how much power i could possibly lose by swapping back to my ls1 intake and then going back to have it tuned

so i swapped my ls1 coolant lines to ls6 coolant lines put the ls6 intake back on and the car is STILL having the same issues, misfires and bogs throughout rpm, and you can hear a whistle/howling coming from the intake. at this point im ready to set this car on fire
