Default iat sensor reation time

I have a 2010 camaro ss ls3 and Since i have bought the caspers iat breakout harness and installed a 2002 camaro ss iat sensor in front of the meth nozzle i have noticed on my ultraguage that the iats dont jump around as much as before like they are slow to react to changes? I have read that the threaded ones u can buy say "fast reaction" sensor for forced induction. Like this http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/g...tail-p-62.html . Is that true and are they the same as the gmc cyclone sensors u can pick up at a local parts store. The reason im asking is if i get it tuned for meth to pull timing if it fails and iats go up u obviously want a iat sensor to react as quick as possible.

when you say in front do you mean the IAT is before the meth nozzle?

No sorry bad wording. In order maf, then meth, then iat, then throttle body.

I just wanted to know if there really is a difference in a push in type iat and a so called "fast response" screw in type. Guess ill just have to try one for myself only like 20 bucks.

If your sensor is an open bulb type thermistor, then generally it is deemed a fast response.

But it will never be like milliseconds response.

The stock one that is in the maf would change every second or so. This new one seems to only change every 10 seconds.

Take it out. Plug the sensor in. Turn the key on. Start the scanner and watch iat. Then take a heatgun and blow across the sensor while watching the scanner
