408 Ws6 VS turbo 2jz 300Z both 500+rwhp
My car 408 Ws6.. Made 508/484 and weighs roughly 3700# with me in it.
His car... Made roughly 515Whp (been told 517 and 512) with a fueling issue that was fixed for the race... And IIRC 47XWtq. His car weighs around 3500# with him in it he says... He showed up with no front/rear bumper covers and no front fenders.. LOL I'm not sure if that is his weight with or without those.
Both of us had passengers.
1st run- 40 roll... And yes I was pretty pissed at the other yellow 300ZX owner in that lane... He apologized before we ever got back and said he thought we were waiting to get a run in so didn't think anything of it.
2nd run- 60 roll... This shows how I have a little more 60 and down and he pulls back around 100... Our top end is nearly identical. IMO these races were so close on the clean runs it is almost hard to call one faster than the other. I might give my car 1/2 a car faster on a perfect run but I honestly don't know. Closest match I have ever seen for cars that make good power.
3rd run- 40 roll... I started at his rear bumper... Again he started pulling back around 100... The passenger said I was inching back up around 125-135mph but it was too slow to matter IMO.
4th run- 55ish roll.. I was still picking up speed to get up to 60.. I guess he tried brake boosting a little more and was already inching out on me, can't blame him for how close the cars are, I honked it quicker so we could get it going. I ended up with my front bumper a little behind his rear bumper, couple feet maybe. Passenger again said I had stopped the pull and gaining a very small amount of ground but I couldn't have closed that gap.
Owner is a super cool dude, we both were really looking forward to this.. He said I could have a 20 or even a dig if I wanted to since these were both his races mph wise. He was on street tires though so I declined. I would have ran off pretty hard from either and with how close the cars are it would have just stayed like that. As much as I enjoy digs and low rolls, there wasn't any point.
I wish I would have closed my head lights.. I read that it actually makes more of a difference than one would think. With runs this close, 1/4 of a car would have been a huge help at 100+.
