I used Benwood Auto Parts in NY. I found them on Ebay. 110k LM7 w/harness, ecm, and accessories for 550 + 250 shipping to OH (almost 5 years ago).
Transaction was smooth. Shipping was fast. Guy on the phone was more than willing to work with me and get what I wanted. They forgot the MAF, but shipped it out and had it on my door within a week once I called.

If you buy from LKQ, just make sure you buy one that you can see pictures of. There's NO telling what you will get in one of the listings when they don't bother to put pictures up.

Reno's Auto out of Ohio. LQ4 and a 4L80E. They weren't the same year, because the engine was from an H2, and he sent me a 93 trans at first until I was told it was a single year and solenoids wouldn't work in the pcm amd so forth, so they shipped me an 04 transmission and picked up the other one all for free.

If you're talking used takeouts, I've bought both mine off ebay. Like anything else, check feedback and follow to see if they have much experience in selling complete takeouts. I would suggest contacting directly and ask specific questions. Also important, be sure they send the motor, trans, harness, ecu, sensors, pedal, TAC, etc. from the same vehicle. There are dozens of threads here about incompatible parts.
Be sure to get one with a warrantee. I think both mine were 6 months.
I would also suggest southern states. Although there's no guarantee where the car came from, salt eats everything up north.
Btw, truck shipping to terminal was only about $100.
