What tire size should I go with for M/T ET Street Radial 2's?
My current setup is 275/35/18 on the front and 295/35/18 on the rear. I'm looking to get the Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial 2's, but they don't have a 275 option for 18" inch rims. Could I go 265/40/18 on the front and 305/35/18 on the rear? That would be the closest matching sizes for that tire. The front diameter would be 26.5 and the rear would be 26.4. Would that be a noticeable difference? Maybe someone has a pic of this setup? Thanks in advance for your help.

Well it's not really a drag radial. It's more of a street/strip tire. This is only tire I can get from M/T, since the other tires that aren't slicks don't have the sizes I need.

I want the same tire all the way around. And I have NT-05s now, I don't really like those. Theres just not many options for running that rim combo. I don't want drag radials, cuz they won't last for crap, the NT-05's didn't last either. I was thinking Invo's but I think the M/Ts would grip a lot better.

the MT's are going to wear faster. They also have a softer side wall which is not ideal for corners. and they are a softer compound which is not ideal for minimizing rolling resistance. you dont want a drag radial, but these MT's are drag radials little brother. MT even states these are drag racing tires and meant for dry pavement not wet. There are better front rollers than these.

Hmmm ok. Cuz I'm more of a go fast cornering type of driver since I have a beefed up suspension. I don't really plan on drag racing. Would the Nitto Invo suffice? Or would there be a better tire combo for the rim setup I have. I'd like to run a 305 or 315 out back.

Why didn't you like the NT05s? Because they wore fast?
Any high performance tire is going to wear out on these cars fast, especially when you can't rotate them.
Toyo R888 is going to be the absolute best streetable tire you can buy in terms of pure performance. They will not last either.
Invos last and handle well, but the NT05s perform better.
I'd stick with a 275/295 front and rear tire.
You can get that in the following tires:
Continental DW or DWS
Michelin PS2
Pirelli PZero Rosso
BFG g-Force KDW
Bridgestone RE760
BFG g-Force Rival
Nitto Invo
Yokohama Advan Sport
The Continental DWS or Bridgestone RE760 or BFG KDW will all last longer then the others and provide pretty good performance.
Nitto also makes the NT555RII in a 285/305 for Vettes that would work. 285/35 and 305/35. It's a step above the regular NT555s and NT05 but not quite as aggressive as NT01s or Toyo R888s. Might get 20-25k mi out of them and good performance.

I was just doin some comparing on the Nitto NT555RII vs the R888. I'm going to keep 275/35/18 up front, but upgrade to 305/35/18. I think I'm leaning towards the R888's cuz I really haven't heard any negatives, other than when in a lot of standing water. Plus I don't like the fact that Nitto's run small, so I'll get the Toyo's. Basically all the R compound Nitto's and Toyos are the same since Toyo owns Nitto, so I would want the Toyo since it will be wider. I'm excited get these R888's!

They howl like a banshee at speed. And they do excellent in water. Routinely used as a wet weather tire in SCCA events.
And yes, Nitto and Toyo are one in the same. The NT01 and R888 are the same compound. R888 tread is better for wet and therefore, road duty.
The Nittos don't run narrow except in the NT555Rs. The RIIs, NT01s, NT05s, NT555s, Invos, all run within spec. They might not be wide, but they run within spec.

I have the NT05's now, and I can tell they might be just slightly smaller than a different brand 295. I'm not worried about the road noise, because having a stalled/cam car with lt's and loudmouth exhaust will drone all that out lol. I shyed away from the DR's and street radial stuff because I'm more of a cornering type and like having stability. So I'm pretty much set on the R888's now. Plus, I read that the Underground Racing Lambos run the R888's. Those are my ultimate dream cars and if those tires can withstand the abuse from 1500 rwhp cars, I should love them with my car!
