Default A2W Intercooler for Holley Hi-Ram

I've been running this same core in my intake but with a custom lid. Next year I'll be running this cooler on a LS7 port Hi-Ram on top of a 1700hp 388 LS Next based engine. Anyone interested in more info send me a PM. I don't make these and at this time there is no test data of this actual intercooler. I'm confident it will support 1500hp with a good water supply. My car weighs 3550# and has been 8.57@159 with only a single 5/8" feed and 5/8" return line from the trunk under the carpet.

This cooler has (2) -12 o-ring fittings on both sides, 2 supplies, 2 returns. Adds 2.5" to height, weighs 15#, seals with 0-ring and includes all mounting hardware.

I don't make these (I have a heat and air business) PM me for more info.

This will work with either a Hi-Ram or a Mid-Rise Holley intake. The mid rise would be around 12.94" tall with 92mm top, the hi-ram 14.83" w/ 92mm (manifolds with intercooler added).

Here's a couple of pics of my car so you can get an idea of how simple the installation is and how clean this makes the engine compartment. Of course it's tall but if you in the market for a air to water intercooler there are sacrifices.

The cooler is 2.5" tall. The guy that built my intake put a lot of research into finding the right size core. If you are trying figure out how much power it will support, there are WAY too many variables to put a number on it. I'm confident it will work fine on an efficient engine combo deep into the 7 second 1/4 mile zone. I'm also confident there are some inefficient combos out there that NO intercooler is going to help. Fuel type, compressor efficiency, back pressure, cam timing, cylinder head air flow, just how well the entire combo is matched in general, all effect how good this piece of the puzzle is going to work.

so your response to chuntington101 in other words is "i don't know what the dimensions of the core are."

If you have a Hi-Ram and a tape measure it should be pretty easy to figure out what the measurements are.

I did talk to the core supplier yesterday and was told this core shouldn't have any problem keeping up with a fairly efficient 1500hp combination. That could easily go 200 hp either way. If you have a engine that produces 700 N/A and put 20# on it with properly sized turbos or an F2 it should be fine in the 1700 hp area. If you think a pair of Chinese Ebay GT45's on a stock 5.3 is going to be good for 1400hp you're going to be disappointed.

Great idea, I like the way the crusty nova keeps the intercooler charge pipes away from the heat of the DP.

Hey i seen on yellowbullet how your iats went from 60 to 110degrees at the end of the track. Has anyone tried the 2 feeds yet and seen if it helped? I like the simplicity of this setup but if i am going to run a air to water would like better control of temps.

Dose anyone have any test data you can share with use. Car looked good at drag week. I have seen a few other cars running that intercooler. Could you tell use that core was used like bell, garrett or precision.
Thanks
