How to get my car to hook
Hi I have a 1996 camaro with a yank ss3200 converter, a 125 shot of nitrous, and bmr tubular rear control arms. I leaving on the foot brake at 2500 and spraying using a delay box 5 tenths into the run. I have street tires and am running 12.03 at 114 mph with a 1.75 60 ft. My question is what tire should I put on the car to leave on the spray using factory 16in rims. Also will tire alone let me spray off the line or do i need to do suspension work. I do not plan on using the tire on the street I just want the best griping tire. Thank you

Ya I think I going to try and keep it stock height. I was looking at the m/t et street radial or the Hoosier quick time pros what do you guy think. I would like a full slick but I don't think any one makes a 16in rim 26 tall slick do they? Thank you

Personal experience... I like the Hoosiers for a stick car because they are a bit softer and a M/T for an auto. Either will be good though.

All I can find is the quick time pros or there drag radial in a 16in by 26in? Can you post a link to the full slick Hoosier in that size. Anyone else have a good tire for my to use. Thanks

Do you really think I will break the ten bolt with slicks. If so maybe I will just keep me street tires? Any other opinions on what to do and how I could leave on the spray. Thank you

The Hoosier QTP will work fine, you don't need a full slick to do the job with your setup. And you can run these on the street if needed.
You will break it, mark my words. When? We don't know but it will happen. Drag Radials will do the same eventually. Hell I broke mine on street tires. It's just a crap shoot. Luckily you have an auto so it will last longer than my 6-speed car did.

I lasted a long time on et street bias plys on my 10 bolt, making 10 bolts live is easier on bias ply than radials because the squishy sidewall gives a cushion against shock. Also helps to preload pressure on the gears before applying all power, and making sure both tires are on equal surfaces and equal dryness, aka don't let 1 tire go through the water then do a burnout.

Ok thanks everyone for the input I think I am going to try the quick time pros I have a extra ten bolt and I am thinking about doing a 12 bolt soon. My next question is do you think 11.7 is possible with the quick time pros? Again thanks for all the input
