T56 5th and 6th gear vibrations
06 v.. 5th and 6th gear vibration at any speed except 110+.. Anyone else had this problem? It isn't driveline.. 4th gear at same speeds, no vibrations.

I had the same problem. I drove it long enough where I lost 5th and 6th. Im betting you will need a 5th and 6th gear cluster and a new main shaft. The cluster is pressed on from the factory and over time, it loosens up and in some cases, like mine, it strips the splines off the main shaft. I called Jason at Texas Drivetrain Performance. He had the parts on hand and shipped them the same day. Everything works perfect now.

Idk.. The **** has a weird clack clack clack noise like a ******* baseball card in a bike wheel when in 1st or 2nd coasting, not sure if it's the throw out bearing or what.. Cause there is a clicking noise at idle as well but the engine is straight all I hear coming from that is injector noise... S&N transmissions here in VA did the "rebuild" all they did was change synchros 1st through 6th. Just came out of the shop yesterday... 1st through 4th was good, once on the highway into 5th ****..

Lmao the shop didn't warranty the trans because they didn't change everything inside the trans, which that's what I thought a rebuild was... Oh well, I'm very sure of myself.. So if I have to ill research and rebuild the ****** myself haha

The 5/6 and reverse cluster can be gotten to with the trans in the car. Have to remove the driveshaft and yoke to remove the rear cover. If it's that bad, it should be obvious.
Also, never heard of a trans rebuild only covering the stuff that was replaced. I'd dig into that and check the legality of what they are telling you. If it's an internal problem it could have been caused by improper assembly, which is what a warranty is for.

That was one of the problems mine had...the driven gear slid right off the mainshaft as it was badly worn. Never had an issue with 5/6 gears though.
The reason most places will NOT do a rebuild is that the builder is liable for every component in whatever mechanical device they rebuilt. If it was bad, it should have been replaced durin the rebuild. It's a hard argument from the rebuilder to sway anyone otherwise unless abuse can be proven. That's why not many places do rebuilds anymore.
