Can 4 channel axles be used in a 3 channel rear end?
I've done several searches and I have found a lot of answers to many of my questions, but I have a few remaining. I've never done rear end stuff before.
Here's the deal, I have two 6spd Trans Am's. My new daily has a 3 channel rear with at least 1 bent axle. My nice fast TA has a 4 channel rear. What I want to do is replace the good axles in my 4 channel rear with some nice Moser axles...4 channel also of course. I want to then install the good stock 4 channel axles in my other TA with the 3 channel rear that has bent axles.
I've read the only difference between the 2 axles is that the 4 channel ones have a reluctor wheel. Is the reluctor wheel removable? If not, will those axles work in a 3 channel rear? Is there anything else that I should replace when changing the axles?

There is a pic floating around somewhere of the flange area. 4 channel axles have a machined surface for the ring to grab, 3 channels don't, that's the only difference between the two.
