Default How many guys ONLY run off the Wastegate spring

without the use of a boost controller?

Just have a solid tune and let the wastegate, BOV do all the work!!!!!

That's all I'm doing at the moment. I will add some sort of controller down the road but for now it's working. Just keep an eye on your gauges when driving, just incase you have boost spike, fueling problem. I'm sure some will say your crazy for not having a controller of some sort, but I'm not worried about it

I ran an 8psi spring at first before getting a boost controller. No problems.

Nothing wrong with it if you are happy with a single boost pressure. It's probably the most simple and reliable option by far, and certainly the cheapest.

And there is a controller...the wastegate and spring/pressure signal technically are the controller

I ran mine that way for a long time, I had it compressor housing referenced so with my 12psi spring it was only making 10.6psi at the intake. I got a controller so I could fine tune it.

I ran on an 8psi spring for a while before getting a controller. No problems doing it only on spring pressure just get tired of the WEAK to easy lol.

I run WG spring pressure alone at the track. I have a ball valve in line with my EBC on the bottom port. I close it at the track and that nets me 20lbs. Open the valve and I slowly ramp in boost with RPM to 17lbs for street driving with the EBC. Works great!

Then I have another adjustable regulator mounted in the car that applies pressure to the top port to add above 20lbs if I want to break things.

Ive been running springs only as well, no controller.
I put 10 psi springs in for street, and 16psi for track.
Seems to work great, I have no need for a controller yet
